Baby Proofing & Instructions
Protect me from Home Accidents.
Home accidents are the first cause of death to children under one year of age. The most serious accidents are: poisoning, electric shock, drowning, injuries, burns, falls and suffocation.
Mom, please read this carefully to protect me from home accidents:
- Unattended hot fluids.
- Stair cases not fenced.
- Exposed filled tubs of washing machines/ baths/ pools/toilets.
- Sharp objects, razors, knives, needles, broken toys, marbles, coins, beads, nuts, sweets.
- Electrical sockets/ wires/ threads.
- Reachable saucepan handles on stove.
- Playing with safety belts in moving vehicle.
- Plastic bags.
Poisoning
- Keep all medicines, cosmetics, cleaning agents,garden chemical and petroleum/ kerosene, insecticides, rodenticides out of my reach.
- Never store poisonous substances in drink bottles or food containers.
- Keep cigarettes and their buds, perfumes and makeup out of my reach.
Drowning
- Do not let me play unattended near a pool even for a moment, I might drown.
- Remove the water from my mouth.
- Give me mouth to mouth resuscitation and heart massage.
- Call on emergency.
Choking & Suffocation
It is when an object is obstructing my air passages, like small toys, or put plastic bag on my head.
REMEMBER!
Never slap me on my back, never give me anything to drink, never hold me upside down, never remove object from my mouth unless reachable.
These may move the object & increase obstruction of air passage.
IF I BECOME BLUE AND CAN NOT BREATH:
- Back blows are used to dislodge the object that is totally obstructing my airway.
- Call on emergency.
Electric shock
- Cover all unused outlets with safety caps so I will not hurt myself, and check that all wires are prop-erly installed and far from my reach.
Burns
- Do not let me play near the oven when it is on. Hide the matches and lighters from me, I might burn myself.
- Do not leave me unattended near a bath tub filled with any amount of hot water.
- Avoid using table cloth, I might pull on them and overturn a hot drink or plate of food.
Injuries
- Do not leave knives, forks, scissors and other sharp tools in a place I can reach and injure myself.
- Make sure that all my toys are not breakable I might injure myself.
- Do not use furniture with sharp edges, I might fall and hurt myself.
Falling
- Do not leave the windows and balconies open. Keep furniture away from windows to prevent me from climbing.
- Make sure the floor is not wet, I might slip and injure myself.
