NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah applauded the clinical & non-clinical “COVID Heroes” in the ‘One year with COVID-19 @ NMCRHS’ get together

  • NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah completed one year from admitting their first COVID-19 patient on 24th Mar 2021. In the last 365 days, around 800 Inpatients and a much higher number of out-patients were treated for COVID-19 by the hospital, with an excellent recovery rate. Total number of RT PCR test during this period was around 400,000, with a turnaround time of within 24hrs.

    Increasing the bed capacity to meet the surge in demand, training of staff, managing available resources and continuously expanding the lab capacity to diagnose COVID-19, everything has been an extraordinary achievement for all employees working for this great organization.

    An interactive session was organized by QPID and Marketing department on 24th March to share the staff and patient experience from this pandemic and reconcile the best practices for the future. The initial panel discussion included, Dr Hazem Daaji (CMO), Dr. Brian Mtemererwa (Consultant Endocrinologist/Internal Medicine), Dr. Wedad Nabih (HOD, Pulmonology) and Dr Alai Taggu (HOD, Critical Care).

    This was followed by ‘My COVID Story’ session that included Ms Shazia Amin (CNO), Mr Sumit Kishore (COO), Ms Jessina George (Lab Manager), Dr Hossam Elshishiny (Chief Pharmacist) and Dr Hina Javed (Medical RMO). The session also included a special segment where 2 senior Doctors; Dr Nisha Soares (Consultant Pediatrician) and Dr Bobby Jose (Neurosurgeon and Clinical Administrator), shared their personal experience of battling with COVID-19 and coming out even stronger.

    The concluding speech was given by Dr Kishan Pakkal (General Manager), who thanked all the COVID heroes for their persistent efforts in ensuring that NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah is the leader in the region, by providing the best of the services, most efficiently, even during these difficult times too.

    The event was live telecasted on MS Teams and received a great response.
