Dr. Soares graduated MBBS in 1995 from the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, with distinction and honors in medicine where she received the Charles Moorhead Award. She chose to specialize in Paediatrics at the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for children in Mumbai where she completed her DCH with a gold medal, and then her MD in 1997.

Dr. Soares worked in private practice in Mumbai and then proceeded to the UK to pursue her interest in paediatrics and neonatology. She passed her MRCPCH (London) in 2000 and has had rotations in both paediatrics and neonatology in Surrey, as well as in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and the Wexham Park Hospital.

Dr. Soares joined Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah in 2002 where she is highly involved in the Neonatal ICU, running a busy outpatient clinic. She is also involved in the educational activities of the Paediatric Department including the breast-feeding initiative.
